Our Story

The Northwest Climate Gathering (NWCG) is an intergenerational group working to connect communities in Northwestern Ontario to take positive, solution-oriented climate action. The Northwest Climate Gathering was founded in August of 2023 to unite and re-energize climate action in the region. The first Gathering was held the weekend of November 25th in Thunder Bay, Ontario to precede COP28. We had 2 packed days, with over 300 people participating in-person and online, and with 50 leaders running workshops and ensuring the Gathering’s success. Since then, we’ve been busy hosting events and planning for the next annual Northwest Climate Gathering.
